Action Bronson @ BB King’s
Queens rapper Action Bronson has a highly-anticipated new album on the way and a huge release show in March at Terminal 5. Tonight he plays a much smaller hometown show, one that’s likely to get more crazy than T5. This show was rescheduled from 1/26, and is sold out.
Napalm Death, Voivod, Exhumed, Iron Reagan, Black Crown Initiate, Ringworm @ Gramercy Theatre
This is pretty much the only place to be for fans of heavy music tonight. There’s grindcore pioneers Napalm Death, who just put out a new album that’s still fresh and raw 28 (!) years after their debut, progressive thrash legends Voivod, death metal vets Exhumed, crossover thrash-lovin’ supergroup Iron Reagan, and the influential hardcore-leaning Ringworm. Stacked show.
Broncho, Dreamers, Heaven @ Rough Trade
Broncho are in the midst of a tour supporting Billy Idol (which hit Beacon Theatre last week), and tonight they headline their own NYC show. If you like ’70s power pop, ’60s garage rock, and modern-day indie rock, Broncho will be right up your alley. Rescheduled from 1/26.
Vomitface, Whiskey Bitches, Pixels, Lip Action @ Cake Shop
Jersey City trio Vomitface make sludgy, grungy rock and this is the final night of their January residency at Cake Shop. Rescheduled from 1/26.
Night Train w/ Wyatt Cenac @ Littlefield
Hop aboard Wyatt Cenac’s weekly Night Train comedy show with guests Damien Lemon, Alison Leiby, Greg Barris and more.
