Gatecreeper are currently headlining an amazingly triple-billed death metal tour with Frozen Soul and Worm and that hit Brooklyn Monarch on September 26. Gatecreeper were supporting one of the best metal albums of the year so far with Dark Superstition, which they played about half of during their set, that also pulled from good chunks of 2016’s Sonoran Depravation, 2019’s Deserted, and 2021’s An Unexpected Reality. Frozen Soul (who were also in NYC a month earlier to open for Power Trip) played a set that relied most heavily on their 2023 sophomore LP Glacial Domination, one of our favorite metal albums of last year, and Worm split things up between 2021’s Foreverglade and last year’s split with Dream Unending.
