Peter Silberman of The Antlers and Will Sheff of Okkervil River are on tour together now, playing intimate “solo-ish” sets followed by a collaborative set. The tour hit NYC for a show at Bowery Ballroom on Sunday night (6/9), which was a beautiful evening all around. Sheff began the show solo with a guitar, keyboard, and harmonica, later bringing out a bass player, and delivering passionate renditions of Okkervil River songs, including “Red,” “A King and a Queen,” and “The Valley.”
Silberman, up next, spoke about how great it was to be back at Bowery Ballroom, and reminisced about the first time he played there. His quiet, powerful set included “Two,” “Corsicana,” and “Palace.” Sheff then joined him and the two played Okkervil River’s “Lost Coastlines,” “Unless It’s Kicks,” and “For Real,” and The Antlers’ “Wake,” “Green to Gold,” “Putting the Dog to Sleep,” and “Ahimsa” together.
