After touring with Metallica last summer, Phil Anselmo and Rex Brown’s re-activated version of Pantera (with Black Label Society/Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Zakk Wylde and Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante in place of the late Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul) brought their headlining tour with Lamb of God to NYC’s Madison Square Garden on Thursday night (2/22). Pantera’s 13-song set leaned most heavily on 1992’s Vulgar Display of Power and 1994’s Far Beyond Driven, and they played other classics like “Cowboys From Hell,” “Floods,” and “Suicide Note Pt. II” too.

Lamb of God played an 11-song set that mixed plenty of classics with stuff from their newer self-titled (2020) and Omens (2022) records, and they brought out a cake to celebrate vocalist Randy Blythe’s birthday and dedicated set-closer “Redneck” to Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul.
