Chance The Rapper has been celebrating the 10th anniversary of his breakthrough mixtape Acid Rap with select shows, including one that happened at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Saturday (8/26). Like at the recent Chicago show, he played all 14 songs from Acid Rap (but not in order), plus other songs from throughout his career, and he had a few surprise guests, including Saba (for “Everybody’s Something” from Acid Rap and “Angels” from Coloring Book), Joey Bada$$ (for their 2022 collaborative single “The Highs & The Lows”), and opener Vic Mensa (for Acid Rap‘s “Cocoa Butter Kisses”). He also played his Action Bronson collabs “NaNa” and “Baby Blue,” and according to Setlist.fm, Bronson was supposed to show up but had a family emergency. The Chicago show also featured Saba and Vic Mensa, plus Noname and Twista. The next and final Acid Rap show is at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum on September 21.
While Chance was in NYC, he stopped by the Comedy Cellar for Dave Chappelle’s private birthday party/show that happened in the midst of Chappelle’s star-studded MSG run.
One day before the show, Vic Mensa announced his new album, Victor, arriving September 15 via Roc Nation. First single “Blue Eyes” is out now.
