NYC’s Dance Parade brought tons of dancers to the streets of Manhattan for its 18th annual edition on Saturday (5/18). Following a ribbon cutting at 17th St and 6th Ave with Grand Marshals Brenda Bufalino (Tap Dance), Lil Buck (Memphis Jookin), Martha Zárate-Alvarez (Mexican Folkloric), and Norman Siegel (Civil Liberties Advocate), the parade headed south on 6th Ave and east on 8th St, towards DanceFest in Tompkins Square Park. Along the way, over 100 styles of dance were represented from a variety of groups, including troupes from NYC schools and some on floats. See pictures from the event by Sachyn Mital below.
