Brooklyn venue and queer bar C’mon Everybody is raising money to fund urgent repairs to its stage, basement stairs, and walls. A GoFundMe launched on behalf of owners Eric and Mike by event producer Rachael Pazdan reads:
Over the past 10 years, Eric and Mike have developed their venue C’mon Everybody to be a refuge and home base for queer and POC artists and community members to thrive. It’s a platform for artists on the periphery of traditional venue spaces to express themselves, grow their audiences, meet friends and community, and feel seen, taken care of, and safe. C’mon Everybody has also become a beloved space for audiences and patrons to gather, dance, express joy, find new friends, and have fun. They are three-time Glam Awards winners for “Best Bar” and also have won the “Safe Spaces” award from the Courage Awards.
It’s no secret that C’mon Everybody is a staple of the queer nightlife and music scene. However, independently running a venue is not easy, and C’mon Everybody needs our urgent help today!
A minimum of $5,000 is needed today to fix their stage, which has seen major wear and tear over 10 years. Due to damage (uneven, warped floor and now a hole), there is an urgent need to fix the stage ASAP before it is soon completely unusable. Anything left over from stage repair expenses will also go towards repairing some much-needed fixes on their basement stairs, which leads to the artist’s greenroom.
Please, donate whatever you can, no amount is too small. Let’s show Eric, Mike, and C’mon Everybody the love and support they deserve.
Thank you for your generosity and solidarity.
They’ve since reached their initial $5,000 goal to fix the stage, but they’re continuing the GoFundMe for “a few more days to pay for fixing their basement stairs that lead to the greenroom, as well as a few holes in the walls, and ensuring the space is safe and sound for all to enjoy.” Read the latest update below, and visit the GoFundMe and donate here.
Dear Community,
We are overwhelmed with profound gratitude, and reaching out to share a deep, heartfelt THANK YOU! Because of your generous support in donations and sharing this fundraiser, we have raised more than $8,000 in just 24 hours, surpassing the $5,000 goal needed to build a new stage. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much. Eric and Mike are overwhelmed with gratitude, and being the humble people that they are, couldn’t have imagined this outpouring of love and support from their community. I am not totally surprised…because we all know how beloved and vital their venue is.
We are going to keep the fundraiser up for a few more days, as extra donations are going to pay for fixing their basement stairs that lead to the greenroom, as well as a few holes in the walls, and ensuring the space is safe and sound for all to enjoy. If you have time and feel moved to do so, please continue to share!
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
Rachael, Eric, and Mike
