While they scrapped plans for an Upper West Side location, Alamo Drafthouse’s long-in-the-works Brooklyn location is finally set to open summer 2016. Part of the giant City Point development at Flatbush and Fulton, the Brooklyn branch of the movie house chain, famous for it’s strict “no texting, no talking” policy, will feature seven screens that promise a wide variety of programming, from current blockbuster to cult cinema. Says Drafthouse founder Tim League:

It’s been a long time coming but we cannot wait to bring the Alamo Drafthouse experience to Brooklyn. The impact on film from this region is indelible and expansive. Hopefully, we can add to that rich fabric and give fans, new and old, a place to honor the joy of cinema.

The Yonkers branch of Alamo Drafthouse opened in 2013. Eater reports that City Point development will also house a massive food court, sit-down restaurants, retail, and apartments.
