The television adaptation of Nick Cave‘s novel The Death of Bunny Munro will be out in the UK on November 20. Nick didn’t write the script for the six-part series but he did compose the score with Warren Ellis. It was adapted for TV by screenwriter Pete Jackson (not the Lord of the Rings director) and directed by Isabella Eklöf (Industry), and stars Matt Smith (Doctor Who, House of the Dragon), Rafael Mathé, and Sarah Greene. Cave and Smith also serve as producers on the series. The first trailer has just been released which is partially scored to Jarvis Cocker’s solo single “Black Magic.” Watch below.
Here’s the official synopsis: “After his wife’s death, a sex-addicted door-to-door salesman and self-professed lothario Bunny Munro (Matt Smith) takes his young son on a chaotic sales tour around Brighton and beyond, where he is forced to confront what kind of man—and father—he really is.”
No word on a North American release for The Death of Bunny Munro. Stay tuned.

Warren Ellis will be back in North America in the spring for Dirty Three’s first tour here in 14 years.
