Queens of the Stone Age began their “The Catacombs Tour” of intimate venues on Thursday night (10/3) at Chicago Theatre. They promised “all-new arrangements crafted specifically for the occasion and enhanced by assembled ensembles” for this tour, and they had a string and horn section with them for the three-act show. On night one, they debuted a new song, “Easy Street,” and you can watch video of that below.
Thursday night’s show also included the live debut of QOTSA’s rendition of Them Crooked Vulture’s “Spinning in Daffodils,” and a number of songs were performed for the first time in years, including “Mosquito Song” and “You Got a Killer Scene There, Man…” (first time since 2007), “Fortress” (since 2017), and “Someone’s In The Wolf,” “Hideaway,” and “…Like Clockwork” (since 2018). See the full Thursday night setlist and more attendee-taken video from the show below.
QOTSA will be in NYC on October 10 at Beacon Theatre.
