boygenius played Hollywood Bowl on Halloween night–with the boys dressed as The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit for the occasion–and they brought out Dave Grohl to drum with them on “Satanist.” They also played one of each member’s solo songs with a different member singing lead; Lucy Dacus and Phoebe Bridgers sang Julien Baker’s “Good News,” Julien and Lucy sang Phoebe’s “Motion Sickness,” and Phoebe sang Lucy’s “Night Shift.” Watch some video clips of Dave’s appearance and check out their full setlist below.
The show happened just days after Foo Fighters played SNL (with Dave appearing in some of the sketches), and boygenius being announced for next week’s (11/11) Timothée Chalamet-hosted episode.
The show was opened by Sloppy Jane (a band Phoebe used to play in), who released a My Chemical Romance cover the day of the show, and 100 gecs.
