Wand have announced Vertigo, their sixth album and first in five years, which will be out July 26 via Drag City. The album was recorded, produced and mixed entirely by the band — currently a quartet with Evan Backer, Evan Burrows, Robbie Cody, and Cory Hanson — and created from 50 hours of live improvisations, and featuring string and woodwinds arrangements by Backer.
The first single from the album is “Smile,” which is warm and sludgy, and you can watch the video, directed by Connor Clarke, below.
Wand will be on tour beginning at the end of May, including a few dates opening for Red Hot Chilli Peppers. The NYC stop on the tour is July 18 at Bowery Ballroom and tickets are on sale now.
