TWIABP announce heavier new album, share song ft. Brendan Murphy of Counterparts/END

The World Is A Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid To Die have announced a followup to 2021’s great Illusory Walls, and it’s shaping up to be their heaviest yet, as well as one of their most bluntly political albums. It’s titled Dreams of Being Dust and arrives on August 22 via Epitaph (pre-order).

The new album includes their proggy 2024 single “Auguries Of Guilt,” their recently-released hardcore song “Beware the Centrist,” and new single “Se Sufre Pero Se Goza” (Spanish for “It is suffered but it is enjoyed”), a post-hardcore song that’s split between melodic singing and harsh screams, and which features Brendan Murphy of Counterparts/END.

Of the new song, lead vocalist David F. Bello says, “My dad died. Anthony’s mom died. The world is a beautiful place, but life fucking sucks a lot of the time. Writing songs and playing them help us deal with the worst moments, so maybe they can do that for you. If you’re at a hospital or a funeral any time soon, this song is for you. We hope our songs can carve out some minutes of pleasure for you along the way. ‘We suffer, but we enjoy.'”

As for the music going in a heavier direction, guitarist and in-house producer Chris Teti says, “One of the first bands I bonded with [drummer] Steve [Buttery] about was Snapcase, but that was in 2011 when we were this light indie, post-rock-leaning band. But with this fifth album, we just said ‘Fuck it.’ We’ve done the post-rock thing for multiple albums, and that’s totally cool, but I feel that live it was shifting a little more aggressive already, and I never want to settle.”

Chris co-produced the album with his studio partner Greg Thomas (who’s also in END), and it was mastered by Will Putney. A press release says Brendan Murphy is one of three guest vocalists on the album, though the other two don’t appear to be announced yet. Listen to all three current singles and check out the tracklist below.

A few weeks after the heavier new album comes out, TWIABP will hit the road in support of progressive metalcore veterans Between the Buried and Me and co-headliners Hail The Sun. TWIABP are on the shows in Philly, Boston, Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal, Portland (Maine), and Albany; and then Delta Sleep take over their slot for the rest of the tour (including NYC and NJ shows). All dates for that tour are listed below. For BTBAM, the tour supports their upcoming album The Blue Nowhere (get it on opaque custard vinyl).

Also catch TWIABP at The Fest this year.
