The Smile release two new songs on surprise 12″ & “Don’t Get Me Started” video

The Smile, the trio of Radiohead‘s Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood, and former Sons of Kemet drummer Tom Skinner, started off 2024 by releasing their second album, Wall of Eyes (one of our favorites of the year so far), and by March they’d debuted a new song live, “Don’t Get Me Started.” As Stereogum points out, that and another new track, “The Slip,” have now been released on a 12″. It’s currently only available in record stores, and hasn’t been formally announced by the band (though they have been posting a bunch of teasers on social media). Listen to vinyl rips of both songs below.

Last month, The Smile cancelled their European tour after Greenwood needed “emergency hospital treatment” due to an infection.

UPDATE (8/8): The Smile have now released a video for “Don’t Get Me Started,” directed by Aphex Twin collaborator Weirdcore. Check it out below. “The Slip” still isn’t streaming.
