The Rolling Stones announce first album in 18 years & livestream event

The Rolling Stone have announced their first album of new, original music in 18 years, Hackney Diamonds. The band is set to reveal more details about the album during a livestreamed YouTube event on Wednesday (9/6) at 9:30 AM EST that will feature Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood in conversation with Jimmy Fallon.

“Hackney may be at the heart of Hackney Diamonds, but this is a truly global moment we want to share with fans around the world via YouTube,” the band says. Watch the announcement video below.

The announcement follows the recent teaser of the new song “Don’t Get Angry With Me.” Keith Richards told Rolling Stone last year that the album features some of the final recordings by late Charlie Watts, and that the album was finished with new drummer Steve Jordan. Paul McCartney also might have played bass on a song.

The Rolling Stones’ last album of original music was 2005’s A Bigger Bang. In 2016, they released the blues covers album, Blue & Lonesome.
