The Jesus & Mary Chain’s ‘Munki’ getting 25th anniversary reissue (exclusive clear vinyl)

Bookended by the supercatchy “I Love Rock N’ Roll” and tinnitus-inducing “I Hate Rock N’ Roll,” the sprawling, 17-track Munki was The Jesus & Mary Chain‘s final album of their original ’80s/’90s run and plays like a career retrospective, including buzzsaw pop, semi-acoustic numbers, duets with Hope Sandoval, and dissonant noise jams. Released in 1998 via Sub Pop in the US and Creation in the UK, it was the last word from Jim & William Reid for nearly 20 years and has gotten better with age.

To celebrate the album’s 25th anniversary, it’s being reissued on October 20 via Fuzz Club with newly remastered audio by by Pete Maher (The Rolling Stones, Jack White, Liam Gallagher). We’ve got an exclusive variant of the double-LP set pressed on ultra clear 180 gram vinyl and limited to 500 copies. Preorder yours now.
