The Cure’s new single “Alone” comes out this week

It’s official: The first single from The Cure‘s first album in 16 years is coming out this week. It’s called “Alone,” and it drops Thursday (7//26) at 7 AM Eastern via Fiction/Polydor. It’s set to debut on Mary Anne Hobbs’s BBC Radio 6Music show, and more “details about the album” will be revealed that day too. You can pre-save it now, and watch a new teaser with a clip of the song below.

The new teaser follows last week’s internet scavenger hunt to hear clips of the song, which the band have also played live several times, along with a handful of other songs that will presumably appear on the upcoming album, Songs of a Lost World. Judging by recent teasers, the album appears to be arriving on November 1. Stay tuned.
