Denver punk legends The Fluid existed from 1985 to 1993 and were the first non-Pacific Northwest act to sign to Seattle indie label Sub Pop — their 1988 album Clear Black Paper was the second full-length the label released. Sub Pop has announced an extensive reissue campaign featuring vinyl reissues of five albums and digital reissues of two others, out on December 6. It includes the band’s entire Sub Pop output from 1988-1991, choice outtakes and rarities, and their debut album, Punch N Judy, which originally came out on RayOn Records in 1986. This will mark the first time The Fluid have been on streaming services, and the albums and EPs have been out of print for decades and they’ve all been remastered (and in some cases remixed) by Jack Endino (Nirvana, Soundgarden, High on Fire, Mudhoney).
The vinyl titles are albums Punch N Judy, Roadmouth, and Clear Black Paper, and EPs Glue and Overflow, while 7″ songs “Candy” (Live, from Nirvana split) and “Tin Top Toy” will get digital reissues. (The Fluid’s final album, 1993’s Purplemetalflakemusic, was released via Hollywood Records and is not part of this reissue campaign.)
