Okay Sonic Youth, what are you up to? Today is the 30th anniversary of the band’s 1995 album Washing Machine, and they just posted a teaser on Instagram with the washing machine from the album cover and it says “2026” on it. Does it mean Washing Machine is getting a belated 30th anniversary reissue next year, or do Sonic Youth have something more up their sleeves for 2026? Stay tuned to find out!
Kim Gordon also posted the teaser on her personal account and wrote, “this was my favorite recording experience with sonic youth. we went to memphis. ate a lot of barbecue. went to al greens church on easter sunday. made some hot jams!”
