New Orleans’ droney shoegaze duo Belong (Michael Jones and Turk Dietrich) have announced Realistic IX, their third album and first since 2011, which will be out August 9 via Kranky.
It may have been 13 years but this sounds like they’ve picked up right where they left off on Common Era, with a mix of motorik beats via drum machine, noisy/beautiful guitar haze, and vocals you have to twist your head to make sure are actually there. Belong have shared two songs off the album — “Souvenir” and “Image of Love” — and you can check those out below.
