Phoebe Bridgers signs jasmine.4.t to Saddest Factory, new single “Skin on Skin” features Julien Baker

Phoebe Bridgers has signed another artist to her Saddest Factory record label. Manchester-based artist jasmine.4.t released her debut EP, Worn Through, in 2019, and she’s now shared a new single, “Skin on Skin.” It was produced by Phoebe and her boygenius bandmates Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker, and Julien also plays guitar on it. As The Line of Best Fit points out, Jasmine decided to submit demos to Saddest Factory after touring with Lucy, who then told her, “Okay, I just played your demos for Phoebe [Bridgers] in the car. She’s on the phone to her manager, trying to work out how she can sign you.”

“Being signed by Phoebe Bridgers is immediately going to open me up to a wider audience,” Jasmine says. “I take it seriously, just to be a visible trans woman role model in music, because there aren’t that many, and there should be more.”

Jasmine plays Pitchfork Paris in November, and she also has a London show at The Waiting Room on July 31 with Knowing the Oak Tree and Ghost School DJs. Those are her only upcoming dates at the moment.
