Norway punk trio Hammok — not to be confused with Nashville ambient post-rock duo Hammock — have signed to Sargent House and announced their first album for the label. When Does This Place Become Our Scene, which is their second LP overall, was produced by singer/guitarist Tobias Osland and will be out June 5.
The first single from the album is a McLusky-esque ripper, “The Scene,” which was written while on tour across Europe. “Everything was sort of a natural response to how good the tour was going, and all the people we had met up to that point,” says Osland. “I wanted to capture and directly address the situation we were in – meeting people for the first time who give a shit about their community and the music around them.”
