Long-running shoegaze/dreampop group Medicine have been on a prolific streak. They released On the Bed back in February and have just announced a second record for 2024. This one is self-titled, is their 11th album, and will be out October 1.
Not a lot of details about Medicine, apart from it was recorded between 2022-2024 with founding members Brad Laner and Jim Goodall along with current vocalist Julia Monreal. They’ve shared the album’s opening track, “False Alarm,” which is awesomely psychedelic but pretty far, sonically, from their days of “Never Click” and singing with Elizabeth Fraser on The Crow soundtrack. Set to a wild drum beat, “False Alarm” uses vocal harmonies as its primary instrument. Will the whole album be like this?
