UPDATE: April Fool’s!
As previously reported, LCD Soundsystem was indirectly the cause of a massive sinkhole forming on Houston Street early this morning, and now they’re ready to make it up to the city of New York. The band, who broke up just five years ago after playing a series of shows at Terminal 5 and one big one at MSG, have just announced, via an 18 page apology letter by James Murphy, FIFTEEN NIGHTS of June concerts at NYC’s Terminal 5.
Each night will be presented by a differerent festival they’re playing this year, though Panorama are presenting the three nights that coincide with Governors Ball. The band’s June schedule now looks like this:

Tickets for the Terminal 5 shows will go on Citi, Bank of America, Chase, PNC, TD, HSBC, American Express, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, Venue, Fan Club, Artist Direct, Four Horsemen, Plant Bar, and BrooklynVegan presales on Monday at 10am. Check back here for our password. Ticket holders to each festival will also get a first chance to buy tickets for the night associated with their fest. Hopefully things go better this time around.
The addition of these shows caused Terminal 5 to cancel their upcoming At the Drive-In reunion show. “I didn’t mean to interrupt. Sorry. But I was there when ATDI wrote ‘One-Armed Scissor,'” James Murphy added, rather innocuously.
Meanwhile, DFA have released an official statement: “Hi! Don’t forget Gobby’s new album No Mercy Bad Poet is out day, and that Guerilla Toss play every night for the next 11 days at variety of DIY venues around the five boroughs (check the Facebook event page for details).”
As previously mentioned, DFA artist Sinkane is considering changing his name in light of this sinkhole.
