Just about a month after Houston emo revival vets football, etc. announced a big 15th anniversary reissue of their 2011 debut album The Draft, guitarist/vocalist Lindsay Minton and bass VI player Mercy Harper announced the existence of a new band, Hew, whose debut album Your Version is coming out July 10 via Tiny Engines, the beloved emo revival-era label that recently started back up again. Their lineup is rounded out by drummer Amador “Moe” Lerma and bassist Kris Hoffman.
The first single is the title track, a soaring indie-emo song that fans of football, etc. (and football, etc. forebears like Rainer Maria and Mineral) will probably like, but also a song that distinctly feels like a new chapter. Check it out below.
