Eliza McLamb has announced her second album, Good Story. It’s the follow-up to 2024’s great Going Through It, and due out on October 24 via Royal Mountain. She recorded it with Sarah Tudzin of illuminati hotties, and a band features Jacob Blizard on guitar, Ryan Ficano on bass, Sarah Goldstone on keys, and Jason McGerr on drums. “I carved out room and brought in new songs that felt fresher, able to pick up on ideas outside of this compulsion to build a personal narrative,” McLamb says. “But then I wrote all these songs about the compulsion to make a personal narrative.”
The first single is “Like the Boys,” an immediately appealing indie rock track. “‘Like the Boys’ is about being a girl among the boys,” McLamb says. “I wanted to gain their authority, their audacity. I wanted them to love me like they loved each other. And looking back now, I see how we all played pretend with one another. I also see how play can be violent.” Watch the video, which she directed, below.
