While The Cure still haven’t made an official announcement about their new album, they are doing everything but. The band sent out postcards to fans in the UK last week, which featured the words “Songs of a Lost World” (the new album’s title) and a date, November 1, 2024. In addition to postcards, posters showed up in Crawley, UK which is the where The Cure formed in 1978.
Robert Smith shared a pic of the poster on X/Twitter last week, and today The Cure have shared a picture of the poster and the postcard on their official socials with hashtag #SONGSOFALOSTWORD and “AND THEN….”
The “AND THEN” part is a clear reference to Robert Smith writing “THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO BOUGHT ‘NOVEMBRE: LIVE IN FRANCE 2022’ IN AID OF @EARTHPERCENT – ALL COPIES OF THE VINYL ARE NOW SOLD OUT AND @NAKEDRECORDCLUB WILL BEGIN SENDING ON 1ST OCTOBER… AND THEN…”
This feels like an official announce of whatever it is going to be is very iminent. Maybe October 1 will be the official announce? Stay tuned.
