Dan Bejar has announced Dan’s Boogie, his 14th album as Destroyer, which will be out March 28 via Merge. According the press release, the album will span the breadth of Destroyer’s styles across the last 25 years, from widescreen pop to stripped-down songs.
The first single is “Bologna” and fits in with the more lush side of Destroyer we know from Kaputt and 2022’s Labyrinthitis. It also features Simone Schmidt from Fiver, who is the primary lead vocalist here. “I haven’t written many songs like ‘Bologna,’” says Dan. “I struggled singing the first and third verses, the most important parts of the song,” Dan says. “They needed gravity and grit. The threat of disappearing needed to be real. So I called Simone.” You can watch the video below.

Dan and the full Destroyer band will be on tour with Father John Misty starting February 13 in Atlanta, and they’ll hit the NYC area on February 23 at Ulster Performing Arts Center in Kingston, February 25 at Kings Theatre in Brooklyn, and February 26 at Beacon Theatre in Manhattan.
