Jennifer Clavin of Bleached and Mika Miko has a new solo project, dear francis, and she’s shared the first single. “touchdown (4-track)” is a hushed, bare bones folk track, and you can hear it below.
“I’ve been working on some acoustic songs that I really care about, but I always held back from putting them out because I worried they wouldn’t measure up in some way,” Jennifer writes on Instagram, continuing, “Life got tough 🖤 and a friend reached out and offered to record me. That’s when I realized I missed the raw, intimate sounds of my 4-track cassette recordings. So, I decided to just go for it and release this first song with this lyric video I made. It’s so scary to go solo for the first time and to be doing music without my sister, but I’m also embracing this new chapter. And, I know if I was laying on my deathbed I would regret not trying this. I hope you find something in this song that resonates with you.”
