Cap’n Jazz are about to return for the first time in seven years to headline day one of Las Vegas’ new Best Friends Forever festival in October, and it looks like they’ll be playing a warm-up show in Chicago before heading to Vegas. Cap’n Jazz vocalist Tim Kinsella is advertising a “one night only” show happening at the Empty Bottle on October 6 that technically has no bands announced but promises: “loCAl PuNk JAmmers, some likely buZZed.” Hmm… Tickets go on sale Wednesday (9/25) at 2 PM CST.
At BFF, Cap’n Jazz play directly after Algernon Cadwallader, the recently-reunited emo revival band who were compared to Cap’n Jazz throughout their entire career. Cap’n Jazz drummer Mike Kinsella’s band American Football also play day one of BFF, three hours earlier. Tickets are still available. Full lineup and set times here.
The news also recently broke that Cap’n Jazz now have a Europe/UK booking agent and are “working on shows for 2025.”
