The surviving members of Brainiac continue keep the spirit of the band and of their late vocalist Tim Taylor alive with help from current touring vocalist Tim Krug at their recent and upcoming live shows, 2023’s Predator Nominate EP, 2019’s documentary film Brainiac: Transmissions After Zero, and Justin Vellucci’s new Brainiac book for J-Card Press. They have tour dates coming up in January (listed below), and they also put their heads together to make us a list of their favorite albums of 2024. It includes fellow indie/alternative veterans like The Cure, The Jesus Lizard, Guided By Voices, Belong, Shellac, Kim Deal, and Les Savy Fav, as well as newer ’90s-rock-inspired band julie and a couple other cool gems.
