Alison Goldfrapp is back with a new solo single, “I Wanna Be Loved (Just A Little Better),” which is also the first release on her just-launched label, A.G. Records.
Working again with producer Richard X (one of the contributors to last year’s great The Love Invention), “I Wanna Be Loved” is an effervescent banger that makes great use of Goldfrapp’s pipes. “After the amazing reaction to my first solo record ‘The Love Invention’ I wasn’t quite ready to leave the dancefloor,” says Alison. “It’s fun, fizzy, a little bit melancholic and a little bit retro. I hope you love it.” Listen below.
As for her new label, Alison says, “It’s an exciting new chapter for me after two decades in the industry. To own my masters for the first time and share my music with the world in my own way feels really quite exhilarating.”
This weekend Alison Goldfrapp will play UK festivals Latitude and WOMAD, and she’ll also perform at the Wilderness Festival in August.
