So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.
ILLUMINATI HOTTIES – “TRUCK”
illuminati hotties are back with single “Truck,” an indie-country-tinged, mid-tempo rock song with uber-catchy hook “singing, ‘heaven is a truck’/the 710 is slammed but you don’t give a fuck.”

AN AUTUMN FOR CRIPPLED CHILDREN – “THIS FEELS LIKE DYING”
Dutch atmospheric black metal trio An Autumn For Crippled Children will release new album Closure on August 4 via Prosthetic, and it’ll include “This Feels like Dying,” a raw, desperate song that guitarist/vocalist/keyboardist MCHL says is “about living with a constant fear of things going bad, and a sense of an impending end. Sometimes it can feel like these are the last good days.”

MAGNOLIA PARK – “BREATHING” (ft. NOTHING,NOWHERE.)
Magnolia Park have announced two EPs, MoonEater and SoulEater, both due August 18 via Epitaph. First single “Breathing” is a glossy fusion of pop punk and trap.

WAYSIDE – “PARALLEX ERROR” / “ASYMMETRY”
Australia’s Wayside have released two new singles, and fans of soaring emo-grunge stuff like Balance & Composure and Superheaven might wanna check these out.

FLYTE – “TOUGH LOVE” FEAT. LAURA MARLING
London duo Flute have a self-titled album arriving October 27 via Nettwerk, and new single “Tough Love” features Laura Marling on guest vocals. The song snaps with electronic percussion and looping piano under confessional lyrics.

FLORRY – “COWGIRL GIVING”
“Cowgirl Giving” is the third single off Florry’s soon-to-be-released LP The Holey Bible. The song is folksy and slow with choppy harmonies and conversational vocals, plus a standout harmonica solo. It comes with a Minecraft-inspired music video animated by Approved Work.

MR EAZI – “CHOP TIME, NO FRIEND”
“The phrase ‘Chop Time, No Friend’ is a very common Ghanaian saying, something you will see written on the front or side of buses, just like the popular saying, ‘God is Great,'” says Nigerian artist Mr Eazi, announcing the lead single to his proper debut LP. “It means when you are eating, you don’t think about anybody, you are just focused on your enjoyment – this song is touching on how people chit-chat on me, but I am still focused on my enjoyment. It is a declaration, a celebration of self. I am saying everything I touch turns to gold, and you can’t trouble me.

SHAKEY GRAVES – “EVERGREEN”
“Evergreen” is the second offering from Shakey Graves’ newly-announced LP Movie Of The Week following “Ready Or Not” featuring Sierra Ferrell. “Evergreen” is melodic and foreboding with well-balanced dissonance and distortion accenting acoustic and electric guitars.

THE HOWDIES – “50/50 (IF YOU’RE LUCKY)”
Athens, GA band The Howdies will release their debut album, Howdies All Around, on September 29 via Normaltown / New West. The record was produced by T. Hardy Morris & David Barbe (Drive-By Truckers, Sugar). The group is loed by Austin Darnell, who is a 20-year veteran of the Athens Scene, and Shoni Rancher who at 48 year old joined his first band. “I think we contrast each other nicely,” says Darnell. “Shoni has such a unique voice, and we’re coming from these two different periods in country music. Between us, we get this weird thing that’s neither this nor that. It’s old, but it’s new. It’s Athens, so it has a little bit of weirdness to it. It gives us more versatility.”

WHO IS SHE? – “96 GHOULS”
Seattle supergroup Who Is She? — Robin Edwards (Lisa Prank), Bree Mckenna (Tacocat), Julia Shapiro (Chastity Belt), and Emily Nokes (Tacocat) — have shared another song from their upcoming album Goddess Energy. Say the band:”This song is inspired by the ghoulish process of online dating and how it ends up dehumanizing people. You collect and label people ghouls as well as becoming a ghoul yourself. Sometimes you hate your ghouls, but you also love them because they’re yours. There’s a ghoul in all of us!”

ALLAH-LAS – “RIGHT ON TIME”
“Right On Time” is a little different for the Allah-Las, falling out side their usual surfy psychedelia while staying in the breezy guitar pop lane. This is from their upcoming album Zuma 85 that’s out October 13.

QUANTIC – “STAND UP”
Quantic, aka British-born, NYC-based producer Will Holland, is back with this new single that combines cinematic elements with four-on-the-floor disco and a positive socio-political message. “‘Stand Up speaks to the everyday person, the everyday struggles for everyday people,” says Holland. “It is celebratory but at the same time about pushing forward, standing strong in what you believe in and creating power through love and dedication.”

SEB WILDBLOOD – “HEAR / HERE” FT. LARAAJI
Electronic producer Seb Wildwood will release his new album Separation Anxiety on September 13 via All My Thoughts. “The record largely explores coming to terms with abandonment, and what that looks like when starting to build a future of your own,” says Wildblood. New single is the appearling, downtempo “Hear / Here” featuring ambient icon Laraaji. It was a dream to work with Laraaji on three tracks on this album,” he adds. “The collaboration enabled me to further shift the parameters of what’s expected from a traditional dance record, and is a line that I tried to consistently toe throughout the album.”

CINDY WILSON (THE B-52s) – “DELIRIOUS”
“I’m so happy that Delirious is up to bat! It reminds me of elements of the new wave music we started out doing,” says The B-52s’ Cindy Wilson of the latest single from her upcoming solo album, Realms. “I think it has the desperate vocals of the time, with a psychedelic fusion. Terrance McKenna loved Private Idaho! Maybe he would have liked Delirious!”

ISLANDS – “SUPERSTITIOUS”
“At its essence, this is a love song,” Nick Diamonds says of Island’s new single. “Musically it may sound ‘sad,’ but it’s actually one of the most joyful songs on the album. It’s attempting to capture the almost religious experience of falling in love. When I write a song, I never truly know if what I’m making is working. There’s a blind approach that requires a kind of faith that something good will happen. There’s no strategy, and no grand plan. And I think that’s really the only way to do it. To give in to chaos. You’ll make some ugly trees along the way but when you hit upon something good, it’s supernatural and even merciful, like you’ve been liberated from yourself. Strange Process is a director + visual artist from Canada. We were fans of each other and so it was an easy fit. I needed something abstract, like the listener was moving through an impressionist painting. And he delivered!” Islands’ new album And That’s Why Dolphins Lost Their Legs is out in August.

ASH – “LIKE A GOD”
“’Like A God‘ pushes the rock aspect of the album to its furtherest limits,” says Ash frontman Tim Wheeler. “An ode to sexual apotheosis it revels in a carnal riff played with mantra like repetition before reaching a frenzied climax.” The band’s eighth album, Race the Night, is out September 15.

DOGSTAR – “EVERYTHING TURNS AROUND”
Keanu Reeves’ ’90s-era band Dogstar are back in action and have just announced their first new album since the year 2000. It’s titled Somewhere Between the Power Lines and Palm Trees and will be out October 6. “We are so excited to re-introduce Dogstar with our new single ‘Everything Turns Around,’” Dogstar say. “It feels like a fun summer song to us. It has an uplifting message and a positive vibe that hopefully makes your day a little bit lighter.”
