So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.
OLIVER COATES – “ULTRA VALID”
UK producer and cellist Oliver Coates has anounced a new album, Throb, Shiver, Arrow of Time, due October 18 via RVNG Intl. The first single is the gorgeously ambient “Ultra Valid.”

NEVA DINOVA – “EDGE OF SOMETHING”
Omaha band Neva Dinova announced their first new album in 16 years, Canary, due out September 27 via Saddle Creek. The lead single is country-inflected “Edge of Something,” which Jake Bellows says describes “A person that feels unappreciated and sad and angry, possibly having a psychotic break… commits to making some kind of unknown change. Thinking life could be better. The irony here is that it gets much worse. A very brave fool.”

CLAIRO – “BROOKLYN BABY” (LANA DEL REY COVER)
Clairo delivers a faithful, subtle rendition of Lana Del Rey’s Ultraviolence track “Brooklyn Baby” for a Spotify single.

CLARK – “GREEN BREAKING”
Clark (aka Christopher Clark) scored the new British indie film In Camera, and he’ll release his score on September 13 via his own Throttle Records. The first track to be released is the suspenseful ambient pop of “Green Breaking.”

RAAVI – “TAKE ME”
Brooklyn-based artist Raavi are releasing a new EP, The Upside, due out on September 13 via Mtn Laurel Recording Co. The latest single is “Take Me,” which singer-songwriter and guitarist Raavi Sita says is “hard to talk about – it’s me grappling with dissociation and past traumas that I still carried with me. It’s a song that tackles the confusion of seeking validation from others in ways that have hurt me in the past. And there’s ultimately no resolution, it’s more an outpouring of emotion than anything else.”

EMILY FREMBGEN – “ARE YOU LISTENING?”
“When you don’t have much family you cling onto friendships for dear life,” NYC-based singer-songwriter Emily Frembgen says of her new single, “Are You Listening?” “This song was me reminding myself to not give up. And what Bruce Martin came up with on piano, inspired by Warren Zevon’s ‘Carmelita’ is the coolest touch.” It’s the lead single off her new album No Hard Feelings, due out on September 13 via Don Giovanni.

DAWN RICHARD & SPENCER ZAHN – “TRADITIONS”
Dawn Richard and Spencer Zahn have shared a new song from their second album together, Quiet in a World Full of Noise, and this one finds Dawn softly singing and speaking over a backdrop of minimal piano and airy textures.

THE BUG CLUB – “A BIT LIKE JAMES BOND”
Punky UK duo The Bug Club’s first album for Sub Pop, On the Intricate Inner Workings of the System By Means of Popular Music Or the Contemplation Of Pretty Faces, Tinned Bubbles and Strife, comes out later this month, and the latest single is a “A Bit Like James Bond,” a tribute to the iconic British spy.

LITTLE BIT – “OUT TO DRY”
Hannah Liuzzo’s debut EP as Little Bit, talk a blue streak, is out in September, and she’s shared another single from it, “out to dry.” She says it’s “the emptiness you’re left with after you decide to consciously let go. For me, letting go requires giving myself permission to wallow and retraining my thoughts to focus on other things. When you’re in the throes of a fixation, letting go can feel like the completely wrong decision, and it’s not until you’re out of the thick of the feelings that you can look back and realize it was the right thing for you.”

PORCHES – “CRYING AT THE END”
Porches’ new album Shirt comes out next month, and he’s shared another new track from it, the grunge-inspired, autotuned “Crying at the End.”

DIVINE SWEATER – “LIGHT TAKER”
Boston’s Divine Sweater have shared another track off their new album, A Time for Everything. About “Light Taker,” vocalist Meghan Kelleher told FLOOD, “When I wrote the lyrics, I was living a version of my life that was inauthentic and I felt really far away from the person I wanted to be. I had all these big feelings—restlessness, anxiety, envy—building up inside of me until they completely exploded and basically forced me to change my life. I quit my job, I moved to a new city, and I stepped into a completely new version of myself. ‘Light Taker’ is set in the months leading up to that boiling point.”

DREAMLESS VEIL (INTER ARMA, ARTIFICIAL BRAIN, PSYCROPTIC) – “A GENERATION OF EYES”
Dreamless Veil is a new metal band with some familiar faces, including Inter Arma/Artificial Brain vocalist Mike Paparo (he’s been singing for AB since 2023), Artificial Brain guitarist Dan Garguilo, and Psycroptic/Werewolves drummer Dave Haley. Their debut album Every Limb Of The Flood is due 9/20 via Relapse, and here’s their blackened, Neil Young-quoting new single ”A Generation of Eyes.” Read more here.

VERBÖTEN (JASON NARDUCY) – “BODILY AUTONOMY”
Before Jason Narducy played in Bob Mould’s band, Superchunk, Sunny Day Real Estate, and more, he had a childhood band called Verböten, who are now reuniting for their first-ever album, 40 years after breaking up. Check out lead single “Bodily Autonomy” and read more about the project here.

MANY EYES – “HARBRINGER”
Many Eyes, the new band from former Every Time I Die vocalist Keith Buckley, announced their debut album The Light Age, and unveiled the fourth single, “Harbringer.”

UK heavy, atmospheric post-hardcore band Hidden Mothers have announced their debut album, Erosion / Avulsion, along with the release of new single “Defanged.” Read more here.
