So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.
DIIV – “EVERYONE OUT” (MOUNT KIMBIE REMIX)
DIIV are about to start their UK/EU tour and to promote it they’ve shared this remix of A Frog in Boiling Water track “Everyone Out” by Mount Kimbie. The band say: “They managed to transform the song completely while keeping the emotional kernel at the center. It is a real pleasure to listen to, and we humbly offer this experience to you wherever you listen to music.”

SOUNDWALK COLLECTIVE WITH PATTI SMITH – “CHILDREN OF CHERNOBYL”
The Soundwalk Collective will release Correspondences Vol II and here’s a song featuring frequent collaborator Patti Smith. “It’s a process of discovery through improvisation and channelling,” Patti says of their creative relationship. “We are sort of two halves, and we merge together the mental and Crossphysical traveller to get the atmosphere and the visual content – the music, even – and the words that will articulate what we want to do.”

FLORIST – “MOON, SEA, DEVIL”
Florist’s new album Jellywish arrives next month, and they’ve given us another preview with “Moon, Sea, Devil.” Emily Sprague says it’s “about our multidimensional consciousness inside of earth bodies. In the years since our self-titled record, I started thinking more and more about who we (humans) are as a collective entity, influencing each other and the world around us with many small actions, emotions, and reactions. This song believes in the unseen worlds beside ours and suggests using that perspective to reach through the veils, creating a powerful tool for channeling greater empathy, love, and connection with others here in our humbling reality. To tap into our power as a species, create change for actual good, and make life better and more equal for all people, we must dare to take care of each other and oppose all that does not care for life on earth.”

CROSS RECORD – “LED THROUGH LIFE”
Emily Cross’ new Cross Record album, Crush Me, is out next week (3/21) and here’s one last early taste. “One possibility regarding our experience here is that we are being led by unseen forces, perhaps an alien species,” says Emily of the song. “I am without a body. I can still see, but there is no time, only space. I am engulfed, maybe abducted from a beach somewhere. Something always pulls me back to this life into this body and I keep continuing on for now.”

THE TWISTETTES – “BIG BONED”
UK duo The Twistettes have just shared this stormer of a single as a teaser to the release of new album Red Door Open that’s out March 21 via Last Night in Glasgow.

NOVA TWINS – “SOPRANO”
Nova Twins announced their third album, Parasite & Butterflies, due out on August 29 via Marshall Records, and shared “Soprano,” which they say is “a celebration of the power of women, especially when we unite. The industry often pits women against each other, and women’s voices are silenced worldwide. But we are still shouting from the rooftops! This song aims to empower, encourage connection, and promote friendship, spreading ‘boss energy’ and lifting each other up.”

SET DRESSING (MEM MANDY INDIANA) – “DATE LINE”
Mandy, Indiana side project set dressing release their debut EP on April 11 and here’s another preview. “date line” is part cinematic synthpop and part cut-up sound collage, pretty cool.

CAUSTIC WOUND – “BLACKOUT”
Seattle deathgrinders Caustic Wound (who share members with Mortiferum) announced their sophomore album, Grinding Mechanism of Torment, due April 25 via Profound Lore. Here’s the beastly, under-two-minute lead single “Blackout.”

JOY OLADOKUN – “ALL MY TIME”
“Being on tour for the past few years has taught me a lot about time zones,” Joy Oladokun says. “I’m constantly calculating how many hours I’m away from the people I love. I wrote ‘All My Time’ during some downtime at a festival in Mexico while checking to see where I was and who I could call. All of it was recorded in the back lounge of the bus where I’m currently racing across America so I can get back to the place I call home.”

HEAVY HEAVY LOW LOW – “SOFT & OBEDIENT”
Chaotic hardcore/sasscore vets Heavy Heavy Low Low are gearing up to release their first album in 17 years, Pain Olympics, on 4/20. On new single “Soft & Obedient,” they sound as wild as ever.

MAGUS LORD (LAMP OF MURMUUR) – “ONE PATH TO CARN DÛM”
Lamp of Murmuur (aka M.) also has a project called Magus Lord, who’s gearing up to release a new album called In The Company Of Champions. The first single is a nearly-16-minute, synth-fueled black metal song called “One Path to Carn Dûm.”

CHRIS CONDE – 3 TRACKS FROM EROS + EXODUS
Despite the logo on the album artwork, Chris Conde is not an extreme metal artist; he’s an alt-rapper from San Antonio. He announced a new album, Eros + Exodus, due April 4 via Fake Four Inc, and here are three songs from that.

KEY NYATA – “HEAD HUNTING” (ft. DENZEL CURRY, POUYA, SHAKEWELL & KXLLSWXTCH)
Seattle rapper Key Nyata caught our ears as a guest on a couple recent Denzel Curry tracks, and now Denzel repays the favor on Nyata’s own new single “Head Hunting,” along with Pouya, Shakewell, and KXLLSWXTCH. It’s set to appear on a new project called Don’t Fold.

CURREN$Y & HARRY FRAUD – “AIRPORT INDUSTRIES” (ft. WIZ KHALIFA)
Permastoned rapper Curren$y and producer Harry Fraud have a new collab project called Never Catch Us arriving this Friday (3/14). They always make for a great pairing, and “Airport Industries” is no exception.

PLATO III – “GOOD PROBLEMS”
Texas rapper/singer Plato III has a new album on the way via Polyvinyl, and the first single is the throwback funk of “Good Problems.”

SAMARA CYN – “POP N OLIVE” (ft. SHERWYN)
Rising rapper Samara Cyn is gearing up to open Smino’s Kountry Kousins tour, and ahead of that she shared this breezy, melodic new single.

KASSI VALAZZA – “YOUR HEART’S A TIN BOX”
Portland, OR folk/alt-country singer Kassi Valazza will release her new album From Newman Street on May 2 via Fluff & Gravy Records, and “Your Heart’s A Tin Box” is a lovely new single that sits nicely next to the likes of Joni Mitchell to Emmylou Harris.
