So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.
LATTO & ICE SPICE – “GYATT”
Whatever beef Latto and Ice Spice once had seems like water under the bridge as the two rappers have teamed up for this new song.

HEMLOCKE SPRINGS – “THE BEGINNING OF THE END”
Los Angeles-via-North Carolina alt-pop artist hemlocke springs is back with her first new music since 2023. About “the beginning of the end,” she says, “I wrote this song seven years ago, when I was meeting people in college who didn’t grow up religious. I was meeting people of different sexualities for the first time and questioning the Christian rhetoric that being gay is an abhorrence. It was a very distinct switch from my upbringing, where I was banned from dating or having sleepovers. So this song is me trying to sort all my thoughts and feelings of once being restricted like, ‘Can’t I have some normalcy?'”

EXCIDE – “WORTH YOUR SALT”
Post-hardcore/alt-rock band Excide have announced their new album Bastard Hymns, due out November 28 via SharpTone. Here’s the heavy, anthemic new single “Worth Your Salt.”

PICTUREPLANE – “WEEPING SKY”
Pictureplane announced a new album, Sex Distortion, due out October 31 via Music Website. The first single is “Weeping Sky,” and he says, “I wanted to make a song that was like slowed down emotional trance music. Some sort of goth trance banger. It’s a love song about longing and needing someone. The video represents a psychedelic night out on the town in Manhattan in a misty haze.”

PRIMITIVE MAN – “SOCIAL CONTRACT”
Denver’s extremely heavy doom/sludge metallers Primitive Man have announced a new album, Observance, due out on Halloween via Relapse. The first taste is the over-10-minute “Social Contract,” which you can read more about here.

WILLIE NELSON – “WORKIN’ MAN BLUES” (MERLE HAGGARD COVER)
Incredibly, Willie Nelson announced his 155th album, Workin’ Man: Willie Sings Merle, due out November 7 via Sony. It features his takes on eleven of his favorite Merle Haggard songs, and he’s shared the first, “Workin’ Man Blues.”

AVA LUNA – “LASTING IMPRESSION”
Brooklyn’s Ava Luna will release their new self-titled album on October 3 via Western Vinyl. “Lasting Impressions” has that soulful, sophisticated video you expect from them.

GEORGIA – “GET OVER IT”
“Frost Children and I got together and on one grey London night in my studio pretty much wrote & produced this whole song,” Georgia says of her bubbly new single “Get Over It.” “Angel & Lulu completely inspired me from there on and altered my whole musical writing landscape. I ended up spending time with them in New York and shared beautiful memories before bringing the track back to London to finish with my long term collaborator, Mark Ralph. This song is meant to make you just lose yourself & throw your hands up and let go of whatever you are going through, even if it is for just 3 minutes!”

SOFTCULT – “16/25”
Montreal duo Softcult have announced their debut album, When a Flower Doesn’t Grow, which will be out January 30 via Easy Life Records. “16/25” is superior shoegaze.

EMILY YACINA – “THE CLEARING”
Emily Yacina’s new album Veilfall is out later this month, and the latest single is “The Clearing.” “I think of ‘The Clearing’ as the arc of the album,” she says. “It’s an ode to the space that only intimacy with another person can take you. This song evolved a lot- I began writing it in 2022. The lyrics are minimal, and we wanted to honor that by exploring the different places the words can take you through sound and instrumentation.”

THE BELAIR LIP BOMBS – “DON’T LET THEM TELL YOU (IT’S FAIR)”
Australians The Belair Lip Bombs have shared a new single from their upcoming first album for Third Man, Again, which is out October 31. “Don’t Let Them Tell You (It’s Fair)” is a super-hooky slice of melodic indie rock.

ROBERT PLANT & SAVING GRACE – “CHEVROLET”
The latest single from Robert Plant’s anticipated new album with Saving Grace their rendition of Donovan’s “Hey Gyp (Dig the Slowness),” which is an adaptation “Can I Do It For You,” an early blues classic from Memphis Minnie and Kansas Joe McCoy.
