So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.
CMAT – “EURO-COUNTRY”
CMAT’s new album EURO-COUNTRY is out next month, and she’s shared the title track. ““I have certain phrases that reverberate around my head over and over again – and EURO-COUNTRY was one of them,” she says. “It’s the title of the album, and the name of the first song on the record. And it means three things to me: It’s the kind of country music I make; the fact that Ireland is a European country run by the euro; and that capitalism is one of the worst things to ever happen to us.”

NATION OF LANGUAGE – “UNDER THE WATER”
“This was the last one to make the cut before we turned the record in,” Ian Devaney says of the latest single off Nation of Language’s new album. “We’d always had a lot of enthusiasm for the track, but the studio schedule had gotten a bit unwieldy over the holidays and an arbitrary deadline had been set to be done with LP4 prior to leaving for a January tour in Australia supporting IDLES. As such we’d turned in the final album mixes for mastering before getting on the plane and I’d resigned myself to saving ‘Under the Water’ for some subsequent release down the line. But somewhere over the Pacific Ocean while trying to sequence the album clarity set in that despite our love for rigid adherence to the production calendar, we wanted it on there. So before soundchecks on the other side of the planet we hooked up all the synths we’d brought with us in the greenroom, remotely concocting the version you hear now. If it somehow sounds distinctly of the southern hemisphere, now you’ll all know why.”

SWEET NOBODY – SWEET NOBODY PLAYS THE SONGS OF JOANNA NEWSOM
Long Beach band Sweet Nobody covered three songs of Joanna Newsom’s debut album, The Milk-Eyed Mender, for a new EP. “Someone put The Milk-Eyed Mender on my iPod forever ago and I’ve loved Joanna Newsom ever since,” Joy Deyo says. “Early on in the band it was a shared love of ours and Brian had the idea to cover ‘Bridges and Balloons’ at live shows. Whenever we’d play it, there was a Joanna super fan or two who would inevitably make their way up to talk to us about it after the show. We originally recorded it for We’re Trying Our Best, but ultimately decided to stick with original songs for that project. It became a track without a home for a while, which we always thought was a bit sad. The other two covers were privately commission by a good friend of ours as a birthday gift for her partner. It was an easy yes! These are recordings that we’ve come back to listen to many times, so it feels fitting to finally release them for other folks to enjoy.”

DOG EYES – “BLUEBIRD”
dog eyes’ new EP blue bird rain cloud is out this Friday (7/25) via Grand Jury, and latest single “Bluebird” is a gentle, beautifully orchestrated folk song. ““Bluebird feels like the foundation of our songwriting,” Davis Leach says. “There’s a playful, almost childlike attitude to the lyrics that comes out when we write together. Simple lyrics like ‘gray rain cloud over ur head, blue birds sing over mine’ contrast with a cinematic instrumental track with heavy piano chords and clarinets playing a new melody below the lyrics.”

EYEDRESS – “NEW MONEY”
Eyedress has unveiled a new video for “New Money,” a highlight off their 2025 album Stoner. It was directed by Atiba Jefferson, and features Na-Kel Smith and N8NOFACE.

KITBA – “HOLD THE EDGES”
Brooklyn-based artist Kitba announced a new album, Hold the Edges, due out September 19 via Ruination Record Co, and shared the title track. “This song means so many things to me,” they say. “It began as a sort of mantra I used through a challenging moment I was finding difficult to move through, but over time it shifted and the meaning transformed. What started as a desire to hold onto definition became an invitation to go beyond it. This song also unlocked an important texture of the album – the first time Zubin Hensler (who produced the record) put my voice through formant-shifting I burst out crying. It was such an involuntary, physical response to hearing something reflected back to me that I heard in my body.”

FOLK BITCH TRIO – “HOTEL TV”
Folk Bitch Trio’s anticipated debut LP is out this Friday, and ahead of its release they’ve shared a final advance single, “Hotel TV.” Jeanie Pilkington says it’s about “having a sex dream about somebody else while next to your partner, and your partner being a liar.”

MAC DEMARCO – “HOLY”
“I waded around in the ocean fully clothed for a couple hours and completely filled my boots with seawater,” Mac DeMarco says of his self-filmed video for his new single “Holy.” “There were some other shots on some rocks I kept trying too, but in the end the clip of me falling in the garden and eating the apple was best. Thank you for listening.” It’s from his new album Guitar, out next month.

CATE LE BON – “IS IT WORTH IT (HAPPY BIRTHDAY)?”
H. Hawkline directed the video for the lush, dreamy “Is It Worth It (Happy Birthday)?,” the latest single off Cate Le Bon’s first album in three years, Michelangelo Dying.

Liquid Mike gave us another catchy new preview of their anticipated new album Hell Is An Airport.

SUPERCHUNK – “STUCK IN A DREAM”
Superchunk’s anticipated new album Songs in the Key of Yikes is out next month, and the latest single is “Stuck in a Dream.” “Based on an actual dream that wouldn’t end, it’s a late-in-the-sequence upbeat number put there to reward everyone who’s listened that far,” Mac McCaughan says. “Voted song most likely to become ‘fastest and most requested song on the record we never play live’ à la ‘Her Royal Fisticuffs’ and ‘Slow Drip,’ but I think we will learn it for real. Great backing vocals by Laura King.”
