This past summer, Singapore grindcore greats Wormrot parted ways with drummer Vijesh Ghariwala (who joined in 2015), leaving co-founding guitarist Nurrasyid “Rasyid” Juraimi as the only remaining band member, after vocalist Arif Suhaimi left in 2022, surrounding the release of their excellent album Hiss. Shortly after that, the band announced that they’d actually be reuniting their original lineup–Rasyid, Arif, and original drummer Fitri–with plans for both new music and shows. They played their first show back in Singapore less than two weeks ago, followed by a short Japan tour that wrapped up this past weekend–check out video from Saturday’s show in Tokyo below–and now they’ve announced that they’ll play Maryland Deathfest 2025.
MDF marks Wormrot’s first-announced U.S. show with Arif since 2018, and first with their original lineup in over a decade. MDF goes down May 22-25, with a Pre-Fest show on May 21, and tickets are still available. See the full day-by-day lineup below.
Wormrot also play Germany’s Underground Remains Open Air in May 2025, and presumably have more dates TBA. Stay tuned.
