Post-metal legends Neurosis made a surprise return earlier this year with their excellent new album An Undying Love for a Burning World, their first with Aaron Turner of Isis, SUMAC, and Old Man Gloom replacing Scott Kelly as co-lead vocalist/guitarist, and on Saturday (7/25) they played their first show with the new lineup and first show in general in seven years. It went down at Montana’s Fire in the Mountains festival, and half of their 10-song set was dedicated to making the live debuts of songs from the new album. They also included some choice older cuts, including “Times of Grace,” “The Tide,” “Lost,” and more. Check out their full setlist and footage from the show below.
Next up for Neurosis: a stacked show with Acid Bath, Melvins, and Kylesa on September 5 in Asheville, NC (which Acid Bath headline); followed by two headlining shows at San Francisco’s Fillmore on October 16 & 17.
