Original Turnstile guitarist Brady Ebert has mostly stayed out of the spotlight since parting ways with the band in 2022, but on Saturday night (9/27) he made the live debut of a new band he’s playing in called The S.E.T., which stands for Self Evident Truth. They played a hometown Baltimore show at Zen West, which was Lady Lila‘s 40th birthday show and also featured Death Threat, Colin of Arabia, Naysayer, Backlash, and Ousted (another new-ish band with members of Pulling Teeth and Ruiner).
Feet First Productions were in the house, and they posted a full-S.E.T. video (sorry) of the band’s live debut. Judging by that footage, The S.E.T. are a heavy, chuggy hardcore band who, if we’re gonna compare them to Turnstile, are more in line with the band’s Step 2 Rhythm / Nonstop Feeling era than with the last record Brady made with them. And there are definitely some times where you can hear the same flair in Brady’s guitar work that he brought to the masses in Turnstile. Check out the video below.
