Slayer played their first show in 5 years at Riot Fest but then had to cancel their scheduled performance at Louder Than Life due to Hurricane Helene, and their next and only appearance is set to take place at Sacramento’s Aftershock festival on October 10. After that, guitarist Kerry King and drummer Paul Bostaph will turn their attention back to Kerry’s solo band, who just announced a headlining North American tour for early 2025.
The band–which also features Death Angel‘s Mark Osegueda on lead vocals, Machine Head/Vio-lence‘s Phil Demmel on guitar, and HELLYEAH‘s Kyle Sanders on bass–will hit the road in January and February with support from Municipal Waste and Alien Weaponry. Kerry King says they’ll be playing a longer set than they did when they opened for Lamb of God and Mastodon earlier this year. “We’ve got a little bit of a learning curve, so will start rehearsing the first week of November,” he says. “And we might put an extra Slayer song into the set and learn a cover song or two.”
The tour begins on January 15 in San Francisco, and it hits NYC on February 7 at Irving Plaza before wrapping back up on the West Coast with an LA show on February 22. Tickets go on sale Friday (10/4) at 10 AM local. All dates are listed below.
Along with the tour announcement, King released a new video for “Where I Reign” from the project’s recently-released debut album From Hell I Rise. Director Jim Louvau says, “I wanted to capture the fury and the energy of the band in a live setting, an intensity that is matched from a visual standpoint that matches the intensity of the song and the energy that the band brings each and every night on tour, and I think we were able to do that. There are some still photos in the video that also show motion and energy, and I was really just trying to bring that energy to life in a live setting that is different from the other two videos that were done in the studio and were a little more in a controlled environment. So this video was definitely the guys’ being themselves and just showcasing what the band provides in a live setting.” Check it out below.
