Ozzy Osbourne will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this month, and they’ve announced that a bunch of friends and collaborators will honor him for the occasion. Billy Idol (and his guitarist Steve Stevens), Jelly Roll, Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Wolfgang Van Halen, Zakk Wylde, Maynard James Keenan of Tool, Robert Trujillo of Metallica and Andrew Watt are all set to perform, and Jack Black is also involved.
The ceremony happens in Cleveland on October 19 and streams live on Disney+; it’ll air on ABC later, and also will be available on Hulu. Other inductees include Cher, A Tribe Called Quest, Dave Matthews Band, Mary J. Blige, Kool & the Gang, Foreigner, and Peter Frampton. The Musical Influence Award will be given to Alexis Korner, John Mayall, and Big Mama Thurston; the Musical Excellence Award to Jimmy Buffett, MC5, Dionne Warwick, and Norman Whitfield: and the Ahmet Ertegun Award for music industry professionals to Suzanne de Passe.
Dua Lipa, James Taylor, Dr. Dre, Roger Daltrey, Slash, Sammy Hagar, Method Man, Busta Rhymes, The Roots, Demi Lovato, Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban, Ella Mai, Lucky Daye, and Mac McAnally have all been announced as presenters this year, as well.
