Nu House Studios is the Central Massachusetts studio run by Aki McCullough (of Dreamwell, Necroplant, and more) and James Goldmann (who also plays with Aki in A Constant Knowledge of Death), and they also have a Trans Musician Fund, which helps cover studio costs for trans musicians. Last year, they released the Trans Rights Or Else! comp, and today they announced Trans Rights II: WE ARE NO LONGER ASKING, which will raise money for Doctors Without Borders Emergency Relief Fund, “which helps provide direct aid to Gaza and other regions affected by humanitarian crises,” and any additional funds raised after the $10 base price will go towards the Trans Musician Fund.
The comp features 13 tracks by primarily trans artists, including The Holy Ghost Tabernacle Choir (covering Talking Heads’ Psycho Killer), Necroplanet, rotting in dirt, Sylvia Haynes, Braindead Puppy, bottom surgery, Deafening, ameokama (covering Low’s “Whitetail”) and more. Pre-order the comp at Bandcamp and check out an announcement video and the full tracklist below. The comp comes out on July 12.
There’s also a new interview with Aki and James up on Punk News.
