Maryland Deathfest always has metal bands from all over the world making rare East Coast appearances, and three bands playing the 2025 edition will also play an MDF-presented pre-show in Brooklyn: Dutch death metal/death-doom vets Asphyx, UK death metal vets Benediction, and Denver scene greats Black Curse (who released their new LP Burning in Celestial Poison this year and whose members also play in Spectral Voice, Primitive Man, and Khemmis) (Morris from Blood Incantation left the band in 2023, but the great Steve from Ulthar and many other bands is now on bass in his place). The show happens May 21 at The Meadows with Brooklyn locals Horns & Hooves rounding out the bill. Tickets go on sale today (12/11) at noon.
