NYC’s black metal wizards Krallice have announced an imminent new LP in what continues to be a staggeringly productive period for the band. They’ll be releasing Prelapsarian on December 21, after releasing their Hyperion EP back in January and their Ygg huur LP earlier in 2015, both of which were great. They’ve shared a new song called “Hate Power,” via the Adult Swim Singles program, and it’s a dizzyingly good omen of what’s to come.
“Hate Power” moves Krallice towards a somewhat rawer sound than what we saw on Ygg huur. It’s still technically advanced music, but it has a dangerous, early black-metal sound, with even trace elements of hardcore in the vocal approach. It’s an exciting piece of music, and even more exciting for seeing a band of this caliber consistently pushing their sound in new directions, a band in their prime that doesn’t seem content with where they are.
And of course Krallice’s members aren’t just in Krallice; they’ve solidified their title as the busiest dudes in metal with their work in Gorguts, Dysrhythmia, Behold the Arctopus, Withered and more.
