Iowa screamo veterans In Loving Memory have been reunited for a few years now, and that’s included new music. 2023’s A Gentler Sun EP was their first release in 22 years, and they’ve consistently continued to release more since then. They just revealed today that they recorded three new songs this August, and the first one, “Dead Stars,” is out today. It features guest vocals from Rila Ogawa of one of the most exciting new screamo bands, Febuary, and the combo of hearing Rila go back and forth with In Loving Memory’s own vocals makes for some serious chaos. The song was mixed by Jon Markson (Drug Church, Drain, etc), and you can hear it below.
In Loving Memory also have a few East Coast shows coming up with fellow screamo vets The Spirit of Versailles and rising newer band Catalyst, including those bands’ appearances at Philly’s Dilly Dally Fest (which Febuary also play). They’ll also play NYC’s Market Hotel on November 14 with x Bong x and Babydoll also on the bill; and Providence’s The Met on November 16 with Dreamwell and Holder. Show flyers below.
Meanwhile, Febuary released their new EP Run Like A Girl earlier this year, and they’re playing the Danny Evans benefit show in NYC right after Dilly Dally Fest.
