Heavy shoegaze pioneers Hum will be reissuing all four albums made by their classic lineup (Matt Talbott, Jeff Dimpsey, Tim Lash, and late drummer Bryan St. Pere) on December 8 via their own Earth Analog Records, with distribution by Polyvinyl. That includes their three classic ’90s albums (1993’s Electra 2000, 1995’s You’d Prefer An Astronaut, and 1998’s Downward Is Heavenward) and their excellent 2020 comeback album Inlet. The announcement reads, “The members of Hum oversaw every step of the re-mastering, lacquer cutting, and manufacturing stages while working with original designer Andy Mueller/OhioGirl in updating the artwork.” Pre-order in the BV shop.
The band says, “On a personal note, we remain grateful and humbled by the ongoing interest in our music from fans old and new. Sincerest thanks for the decades of support and kindness.”
(The reissue campaign does not include Hum’s out-of-print 1991 debut album Fillet Show, recorded with former vocalist Andy Switzky.)
