While their friends in Scowl and Miltarie Gun are on the road with A Day To Remember, Drain will play before Piece the Veil this summer in Denver when both bands open for blink-182. Like The Rolling Stones, whose Colorado show is being opened by Widespread Panic, blink just announced varying openers by city for their upcoming North America tour. Given Drain’s penchant for the Grateful Dead, the Stones and blink’s choices for openers in the state that is known for early weed legalization are not as far apart as they first seem.
The full list of openers just added to blink’s tour also includes Astronoid, jxdn, Landon Barker (Travis’ son), EKKSTACY, Hot Milk, and Live Without (aka the “what the fuck is up Denny’s?!” band that blink-182 also referenced in their tickets-on-sale video last year), and as previously mentioned, the Toronto show also has hometown heroes Alexisonfire. The NYC stadium show at Citi Field on July 21 is one of the dates with EKKSTACY. Full schedule below. blink-182 are also promising a new production setup which “will now offer fans a brand-new show, increasing seating capacity across all shows and offering a full 360-degree view of the performance in the arenas.”
Meanwhile, tickets went on sale today for Drain’s just announced Bowery Ballroom (5/20) show with Teenage Wrist and Stand Still. It comes one day after their sold-out NYC show at Brooklyn Monarch (5/19) with Terror, Scowl, End It and more bands that they’re hitting the road with, beginning May 12. They also play Jersey City’s White Eagle Hall on 5/26 on that tour. Drain also play Sick New World this weekend. All of their dates are listed below.
