Oklahoma City sludge metal/noise rock band Chat Pile are fresh off releasing their new collaborative album with OKC-via-Texas guitarist Hayden Pedigo, In the Earth Again, and Chat Pile bassist Stin has also taken the time to tell us about his five favorite bands from his home state of Oklahoma. The list ranges from a ’70s cult classic to contemporaries of Chat Pile (and technically one pick is a record label), and it’s a treat to hear what Stin has to say about all of this stuff. Chat Pile have one upcoming show and it’s with an amazing lineup: they’re opening Cap’n Jazz‘s upcoming LA show at The Wiltern on November 20 (moved from Hollywood Palladium on 11/21), alongside The Red Krayola (first show in 10 years), Rainer Maria, and Anthony Family (a project from Ceremony guitarist Anthony Anzaldo).
