Black Sabbath riffmaster Tony Iommi has announced a new solo album, From the Dark. It’s his first solo album since 2005’s Fused, first new album in general since Black Sabbath’s 2013 album 13, and first new music since the death of Ozzy Osbourne. It’s due out October 23 via BMG, and we have an exclusive, limited edition “New Boy White & Black Marble” vinyl variant, available for pre-order now in the BV shop.
Iommi co-produced From the Dark with his longtime collaborator Mike Exeter, and he’s joined on it by vocalist Jorn Lande (who also helped write it), bassist Becky Baldwin, and drummer Karl Brazil. “It’s an album we’ve really enjoyed making,” Iommi says. “We’re not trying to prove anything – it’s a great album, it rocks!”
The first single, “World Alone,” premiered at an event in Birmingham, England, right by the Black Sabbath Bridge (as it was christened in 2019). Watch the video below.
